Born in a small Wisconsin town, I learned to sew at a very young age from my Grandmother. Starting out making my own Barbie clothes, I quickly became excited about making things for myself. Through school, I immersed myself in every art and sewing class they could offer and ultimately put on my first fashion show as a college scholarship entry. Even though I didn’t get the scholarship, I was set on going to art school in Chicago and study fashion design.

Uninspired by the first 2 years, I ended up falling in love, quit school and made my way out to the Columbia River Gorge. When I wasn’t sewing, I was working in the wine industry, so it was a natural transition to find work at an awesome local winery in Hood River. Fast forward 10 years and the owners finally retire, compelling me to return to my true passion as a seamstress. I was fortunate enough to find a job working at a sail loft making windsurf sails, as well as sailboat sail repair and military industrial equipment covers. I continued to do lots of alterations and custom design on the side by taking advantage of the loft and its equipment. After the covid difficulties, our major contracts dried up and it was time to move on again. I was still doing alterations in my new home near Mt. Ranier in Washington but it was hard to make money in a small rural town. After much contemplation, I decided my next move was back home where it all began in Door County, Wisconsin.

I’ve sewn everything from blown out crotch seams in a rocker’s favorite pants to faux leather dinette seat covers for an Airstream. From my Mother’s 2nd wedding dress to adorable skunk costumes for infants. And from windsurf sails to military equipment covers. I can alter, embellish and design clothes for men, women, kids and pets, as well as projects for your home or boat too!
